Endoscopic Lumbar Fusion

Lumbar decompression and fusion surgery is commonly performed for patients suffering from lumbar stenosis or narrowing of their spine, which can result in a pinched nerve, causing pain in the back and legs. We decompress the spine and remove the structures pinching the nerve. Through that process, an instability is created, so we then stabilize the spine, allowing it to heal in the correct position. This surgery is traditionally done with a large incision, but we offer a minimally invasive approach, allowing for smaller incisions, shorter recovery time, less pain and blood loss, and shorter hospital stays. We conduct this surgery endoscopically, allowing for an incision only a few millimeters wide. This procedure can be done in our outpatient center and patients go home the same day.
